The Blue Mouse Theatre – 2611 N. Proctor, Tacoma, WA 98407 The historic theatre, originally named after a lounge in Paris, France, opened its doors on November 13, 1923 and screened its first film, the “spectacular melodrama,” THE GREEN GODDESS, to a packed house. The community theatre prospered through the decades until the 1980s when a proliferation of theater multiplexes threatened its future. A small group of local activists and preservationists banded together in 1993 to purchase, restore and ultimately save the Blue Mouse. At eighty-five years old, the Blue Mouse is one of the very oldest continuously operating movie theaters in the country. BlueMouseTheatre.com
